If you d love a career that puts you in a classroom to help children learn, then the Foundations of Teacher Education degree would be a great first step. This program will prepare you to work directly with elementary and middle school students under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Your training will include assisting children with math, science, reading and writing assignments as well as handling classroom management, clerical and other tasks related to instruction. You ll also learn about monitoring student activities, correcting papers, tutoring, one-on-one activities, small group facilitation, and assisting children with computers and media. This program meets Title I requirements.

A program that requires its students to demonstrate they have successfully acquired a set of skills or knowledge base prior to completing the program. Compare to a "time-based" training program that results in successful completion if the students participate in a certain number of instructional hours.

Some textbook costs may be included in the estimated program cost.
Refunds are processed according to the WTCS refund policy. Wisconsin Technical College 10.08, Wisconsin Administrative Code, establishes the requirements for district policies and procedures related to student fee refunds. Refunds are applicable from the date the student officially drops the class through Enrollment Services or online. FVTC will not drop any classes for students for nonpayment or for failure to attend any portion of the class.
